BIOS Test Engineer Job in Austin 78735, Texas US


Description:
Great long term opportunity available for a mid to senior level BIOS Test Engineer to assist in the validation process of x86 PC system BIOS/UEFI source code with a minimum of 2-5 years of professional industry related experience. The position itself would require the development and maintenance of automation test scripts written in Perl that will test BIOS/Firmware according to documentation and prototype hardware specifications. The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate a thorough knowledge of system BIOS, C and/or Perl programming languages, solid HW/SW debug experience, as well as read/reference design schematics and manuals to assist in root-cause failure analysis derived from test scripts.

Requirements:
2-5 years of professional industry experience in BIOS/firmware test and automation scripting.

2-5 years of programming language experience in Perl, C, Python, Ruby, and VBS.

Experience developing scripts in Perl or C is preferred. All other programming languages listed are a plus/nice to have.

Good balance of HW/SW lab experience testing prototype (x86) PC systems required.

Ability to get up to speed programming in Perl quickly and an acute understanding of high level dynamic programming languages.

Web development and system maintenance experience a plus.
