Biostatistician Job in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania US
The Biostatistician will provide cross-functionalstatistical support for the Data Operations, Development, Product and fieldteams, particularly in the areas of randomization, supply logistics, predictivemodeling and other complex data analysis. The Biostatistician will relate dataand biostatistics to business value and to propositions that can be included indemonstrations and discussed with customers. The Biostatistician will anticipateand program data preparation, data cleaning and data validation needs for existingand new data products. The Biostatistician will provide input for data qualityand development to the Director, Data Quality and Analytics, and uppermanagement.
KeyResponsibilities:
- Explain and present statistical approaches and algorithms to internal product teams as well as to prospects and customers, specifically with biostatistics users.
- Contribute to marketing and sales presentations, as it pertains to data analysis, statistical approaches and value propositions.
- Interact with internal and external customers in relation to product functionality, embedded algorithms and use of statistical methods in Medidata products.
- Develop statistical models (e.g. identify atypical values, correlative analysis, predictive analysis).
- Analyze data and make recommendations to management regarding the quality of data to be used in company products.
- Perform data analyses including but not limited to client support, query design, best practice recommendations and final deliverable presentation.
- Interpret data analysis and report results.
- Recommend strategies for and assist with test modeling for software and data sampling.
- Maintain and develop programs used by the Data Quality and Analytics group for data cleaning, data validation and data product generation.
- Provide cross-functional training in biostatistical methods.
- Work independently and with a project team.
- Maintain and update process documentation.
- Perform special projects as assigned.
Required:
- Demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills with a strong background in statistics.
- Undergraduate degree in statistics or related field with minimum 2 years statistical modeling experience required.
- Proficiency (5+ years) in SAS or similar analytics platform (R Programming a plus), SQL and MS Office Suite (MS Access, MS Excel, MS Visio).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Approximately 30% travel.
Preferred:
- Graduate degree preferred (MS or PhD level).
- 3+ years of experience in clinical informatics, healthcare or pharmaceutical industry.
- Solid publication record.
- Experience with dynamic randomization, adaptive design and clinical trial statistical plans.
- Awareness of regulatory environment.
