The Catalent Operational Excellence team is comprised of key staff members charged with the responsibility of developing and imbedding skills and behaviors that will establish a sustainable continuous improvement culture within Catalent Pharma Solutions. Catalent’s Operational Excellence staff is responsible for deployment of the skills and disciplines associated with Lean / Six Sigma across the Catalent enterprise. The Continuous Improvement Leader role is a site-based position within the Operations function with the principle focus of continuous improvement.

The Black Belt is responsible for conducting performance improvement projects as specified by the business unit leadership team in coordination with the site deployment champion. Responsible for implementation of corrective action plans and verification of solution effectiveness. Black belts will in partnership with the site level financial services team document the fiscal impact of solutions and maintain all appropriate data within the Operational Excellence project tracking system. Specific activities, duties and responsibilities: Conduct Six Sigma DMAIC, Lean and DFSS projects, leading teams to address business process problems and design new processes to achieve results.

Provide a control plan upon project completion and ensure control plan is integrated into the appropriate SOPs.

Ensure training is completed upon implementation and affectivity of the SOP.

Facilitate problem-solving and Workout sessions to lead teams to address issues not requiring the DMAIC approach Mentor Green Belts in completing DMAIC projects Instruct Six Sigma training classes for Green Belts and “just in time” training as needed Conduct special data analysis projects as requested by management Identify opportunities for Six Sigma projects and conduct analysis to scope projects Facilitate project completion by Green Belts by recognizing and addressing organizational barriers Coach operations managers to establish performance measurement systems and goals aligned with organizational objectives Establish Statistical Process Control charts where applicable and train process owners in their proper use Work with process owners and IT resources to make data available to process owners and Green Belts for process improvement Provide technical and statistical expertise to teams to enhance quality of services/ products Communicate frequently with Master Black Belt and Champions regarding project status, issues and accomplishments Conduct Six Sigma DMAIC, Lean and DFSS projects, leading teams to address business process problems and design new processes to achieve results. All other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

·       Bachelor’s degree Experience applying Six Sigma and Lean techniques in a transactional environment

 

Hiring Preferences:

·       Education and Experience: Master’s degree Black Belt certification Physical

 

Requirements:

·       Must be able to traverse long distances within and between manufacturing facilities

 

·       Must be able to travel 20% of time Must be able to operate a computer, flip chart documentation and LCD projection equipment

 

Working Conditions and Environment:

·       Work is performed directly in any of Catalent’s facilities, including but not limited to office areas, manufacturing facilities, distribution facilities, research facilities and storage facilities. Work may also be performed in hotel conference areas.
