BlackRock's Multi-Asset Client Solutions (BMACS) team develops and manages investment solutions involving multiple strategies and asset classes. The team includes more than 130 portfolio managers, quantitative analysts, investment strategists, research analysts, economists, and actuaries. We partner with clients to solve their investment and liability challenges by understanding their objectives, advising on solutions, and designing and implementing strategies that meet or exceed goals. The team's guiding principles are to:
- Serve as a trusted advisor by providing unbiased advice on portfolio issues and multi-asset solutions
- Deliver BlackRock's global capabilities by leveraging the firm's insights in a holistic and consistent manner
- Employ a flexible framework using a dynamic approach to investment solutions that adapts to client needs
- Take ownership of implementation and performance, by focusing on high-quality execution and delivering investment results
- Actively research and select return-generating strategies from both internal and external providers
BMACS is seeking Associate candidates for the Client Strategy team in the New York office. BMACS client strategists offer strategic advice to BlackRock's institutional and retail clients on asset allocation, manager structure, asset-liability management analysis, and many other areas. Additionally, strategists design custom investment solutions tailored to specific client objectives. Successful candidates will work directly with senior strategists and with clients. This is an excellent opportunity for advancement for a motivated candidate.
Responsibilities:
- Quantitative analysis in asset allocation, surplus optimization, manager structure, manager style analysis studies
- Assist in developing presentations based on analyses
- Attend client meetings and present to clients, as appropriate
- Contribute to thought leadership by researching topics of interest and writing articles and papers, as appropriate
- Assist with team organizational responsibilities
- Develop team infrastructure
Qualifications
- BA/BS is required, MS or equivalent is preferred
- Computer proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint; programming experience, MatLab a plus
- Course work or experience in the following: finance, economics, math, statistics, engineering
- Solid quantitative and problem solving skills
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize numerous projects
- Strong desire to learn and a positive attitude
