Business Unit Overview:
Through BlackRock Solutions (BRS) — the natural evolution of our long-standing investment in developing sophisticated and highly integrated systems — we additionally offer risk management, strategic advisory and enterprise investment system services to a broad base of clients with portfolios totalling approximately $10 trillion. “Aladdin” is the name given to BRS’ enterprise-wide risk analytics and trading platform which is used by both BlackRock and BRS’ external clients.
Job Purpose/Background:
The Aladdin Client Manager will take a lead role in the deployment and management of Aladdin, BRS’ enterprise investment management platform, and Green Package, BRS’ risk analytics service, at major financial institutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage relationship with client’s teams to include senior management (e.g. Chief Investment Officer, Head Portfolio Managers, Chief Technology Officer, Head of Operations)
- Work with client to create and administer project plans, coordinating resources across multiple functional areas within BRS
- Answer client questions related to the BRS investment management tools, functionality, market best practices and basic financial analytics
- Provide general client support including co-ordinating and responding to queries, ad-hoc requests and creating invoices, quarterly reports and other regular reporting.
- Work closely with client and BRS subject matter experts to oversee technical and interface changes
- Lead and assist in system configuration, testing and user training
- Provide demonstrations of BRS risk analytics and trading system tools
- Communicate and organise coverage for scheduled maintenance and disaster recovery tests
- Develop and maintain internal Wiki website for your client with workflows, contacts etc
- Participate in BRS business development activities assisting in system validations and due diligence meetings with prospective clients
- The successful candidate will be expected to travel 2-3 days per week.
Knowledge/Experience:
- Proven experience working on portfolio and risk Implementations with solid risk analytics experience
- Strong project management experience is required for the role
- Relationship management experience is essential including strong communication and presentation skills (written and verbal)
- Prior experience providing investment management tools as a service is essential
- Excellent academic background including a Master’s in a financial subject is required
- Proven ability to manage and lead as well as perform hands-on tasks
- Solid work experience in the financial services industry. Familiarity with buy-side investment management process a plus
- Familiarity with capital markets instruments (fixed income, equities, derivatives) is essential
- Excellent creative, analytical and computer skills with an entrepreneurial approach to large, complex projects
