Overview:
The Sales Manager in Training, ( SMT ) is an extension of the management team and will assist in delivering an outstanding shopping experience focusing on Sales, Service and Charge Account acquisitions. The SMT will serve as a selling leader within his/her area of responsibility and will cultivate a team that is intuitively responsive to the needs of our upscale clientele. This is an accelerated education program designed to cultivate selling skills and management technique with the expectation of a promotion to Sales Manager in 12 to 18 months. There will be an expectation of an ability to work in any store within a geographic region. The position will be 50% selling and 50% learning to be a leader and manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Commitment to selling and building client relationships through personal interaction and development of your own client base
- Serve as a role model and assist the selling team on Professional Selling and Service techniques, building and developing relationships with Clients and New Account Acquisition
- Utilize Associate Coaching Tools daily to assess, observe and develop Sales Professionals
- Educate team on store events and promotions to drive business results and maximize sales
- Drive sales volume by reacting to trends and selling reports
- Develop and cultivate a strong business partnership with store executives
- Recognize and celebrate positive performance
Skills Summary:
- 4 year college degree required. Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred
- Prior background in retail or a service industry preferred
- Enjoy meeting and interacting with customers, demonstrates an energetic and positive attitude
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to motivate and provide feedback to sales team
- Ability to work collaboratively across functional areas to achieve results
