Blow Molding Mechanic Job in Hazelwood, Missouri US

Responsible for the quality and functionality of all plant machinery/equipment. Makes adjustments, troubleshoots and performs preventative maintenance to plant machinery/equipment. Responsible for setting molds and associated equipment. Makes adjustments to the equipment until a quality product has been produced. Troubleshoots the equipment and to insure that quality products are being run consistently.

 

ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

1.      To observe all safety rules/regulations and perform duties in a safe and efficient manner.

2.      Reviews production sheets to determine what products will be run on which machines.

3.      Reviews the set-up book to gain knowledge of recent activities regarding tooling, molds, parts etc.

4.      Prepares for changes by reviewing the quality control sheet, pulling all material(s), tools/ equipment and arranges them near the machine.

5.      Sets molds as required.

6.      Inspects for good clearances, loose wires/water lines, potential hazards or failures before starting the machine.

7.      Replaces necessary parts using established procedures and precautions as required.

8.      Adjusts weights of products by entering information in the MACO 8000 program.

9.      Inspects products for hardness, holes, color, lines or any other defects and enters adjustments in to the computer to make the necessary corrections.  Informs the Superviosr and Quality Manager as necessary.

10.  Assists is resolving production problems.

11.  Fills out NCR’s as necessary.

12.  Reviews and follows maintenance checklists/logs for all plant machinery/equipment.

13.  Maintains condition of machinery/equipment (electro-heat, grinders, compressors, chillers, dryers, etc.) to allow for optimal usage.

14.  Discusses machinery/equipment issues with Mechanics and/or Plant Manager.

15.  Maintain accurate log of work performed on all machinery/equipment.

16.  Performs regular maintenance in various areas within the plant.

17.  Assists is resolving production problems.


SECONDARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

1.      Provide training and assistance to new employees.

2.      Perform other duties as assigned.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

1.      Knowledge of Beckem equipment.

2.      Knowledge of mold set-up.

3.      Possess a high level of attention-to-detail and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment. 

4.      Be willing to work various shifts, hours, and overtime as required.

5.      Ability to speak and understand English.

6.      Knowledge of electrical processes and procedures.
