Blow Molding Operator Job in Hazelwood, Missouri US

This position reports to Shift Supervisor and is responsible for the operations and first level repair/maintenance of the Heat Transfer labeling systems and support equipment.   Experience in high volume plastics or manufacturing environment preferred.

 

ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

1.      To observe all safety rules/regulations and perform duties in a safe and efficient manner.

2.      Reviews production sheets and schedules to determine products runs on machines.

3.      Oversees/directs/trains staff assigned to designated lines for optimal performance and quality.

4.      Relieves breaks for packers.

5.      Prepares for changes by reviewing and following work instructions/manuals, quality control guidelines, pulling and staging needed material(s), tools/ equipment and arranges them near the machine.

6.      Inspects equipment and work cell areas by observing each line for good housekeeping, line clearances and to ensure equipment is safe and in good repair. 

7.      Repairs/replaces necessary parts using established procedures and precautions as required.

8.      Responds to CI Vision system alerts and adjusts products by entering information into program or follows necessary troubleshooting guidelines.

9.      Inspects products every hour to ensure product complies with customer specifications (includes:  hardness, holes, color, lines, etc.) and enters adjustments in to the computer to make the necessary corrections.  Informs Supervisor/Management as necessary.

10.  Receive and store labels. 

11.  Assist Line Mechanic in all issues related to managing raw materials, scrap, rejected bottles and finished goods.   

12.  Assists in resolving production problems.

13.   Fills out necessary paperwork completely and accurately throughout shift and turns in at end of shift.

14.   Provide training and assistance to new employees.

15.   Perform other duties as assigned.

 

SECONDARY ACCOUNTABILITIES

 

1.      Is aware of and follows customer specific work instructions regarding packing.

2.      Keeps assigned work area clean, neat, organized and free from safety hazards.

3.      All other duties as assigned.

 

 

 

 

 REQUIREMENTS

 

1.      Ability to speak and understand English.

2.      Must be motivated and possess a high attention to detail.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

1.      Prior experience with manufacturing assembly, hand work or packing. 

2.      Experienced in minor troubleshooting and repair of manufacturing equipment.

3.      Vision System experience preferred.
