Role: BMC Configuration ADDM Consultant

Salary: $55,000

Overview:
Consultancy role working as a BMC Configuration ADDM Consultant for a government organisation.
Duties:
• Project planning. Liaise with Project Managers to ascertain client’s technical, resource and time requirements.
• Product installation, configuration and testing
• Data analysis and subsequent troubleshooting
• Product enhancement – The products allow a vast range of enhancements based on the internal programming language (TPL), XML file configuration to enhance the User Interface and internal reporting system, adapter configuration allowing the product’s database attributes to be exported to a wide range of external products, data importing enhancements allow the product to import external configuration attributes to it’s database, extending the database to allow new attribute concepts to be linked to existing attributes, linking the UI to external web sources
• Report writing using the internal query language. Each client site regularly requires a unique batch of reports that suit their needs. These reports will be custom written to include some custom-built attributes and relationships
• Training – Provide on-site training and web-ex demonstrations to technical, management, project sponsors and data consumers
• Project completion – provide documentation (user manuals, system config spreadsheet, procedures and general summary are just some of the documentation types that we are required to produce
Key Skills:
• Knowledge of a range of solution concepts including Configuration Management, Dependency Mapping, Server / Network Monitoring, Backup and Recovery, SAN, LAN, WAN, batch scheduling
• Excellent understanding/experience of a range of O/S platforms covering Unix and Windows.
• Excellent knowledge of virtualisation technology
• Excellent communicative skills - presenting new technologies to client base, communicating technical requirements of consulted products to technical liaisons
• Excellent use of initiative across the range of technical and commercial challenges presented within an on-site consultancy role
• Excellent understanding of general I.T Project Methodology
• Experience of scripting technologies including UNIX Shell and Python
• Managing a team of individuals in a challenging and pressurised working environment
• Interpersonal skills. Relating to colleagues, customers and external contacts
• High level of experience in dealing with users and technical liaisons
• Excellent communication skills. Oral and written English
