BMC Remedy Developer Job in Ashburn, Virginia US

Location – Ashburn, VA

Duration – 12+ months Contract

Client –  Telecommunications

This position is a specialty development role centered on the BMC ARS Remedy product (experience with at least version 7.6 or later). We need verifiable expertise in software/integration development using this product. This is NOT a “user” position where the candidate simply has user experience in an operations role. The qualified candidate will demonstrate an understanding of the BMC Remedy suite of tools and plug-ins as well as 5 years or more experience in development with the product. This is the core requirement for this position.

Required experience in BMC’s Remedy Migrator Tool and FTS plug-in include use and experience in using migrator to install software in development, test and production environments. Required experience in Linux systems using Oracle database products for 5 or more years, preferably in conjunction directly with ARS Remedy. A successful applicant will know how WebServices operate in a development environment, and have prior experience with Apache and Tomcat -- preferably associated with prior Remedy integration work.

At least 5 years experience in a development environment with experience working with test and production support organizations is a requirement. The user must be familiar with waterfall development processes and have experience applying it with a Remedy development project.

A successful candidate will demonstrate strong understanding and have 5 or more experience with XML and SOAP related development and tool usage. Java is not a requirement but is a desired skill set.

This position also includes mandatory support of Production Deployments performed in the VZ Ashburn Security Operations Center, accessing the network POP to support ARS deployments nationwide. These deployments may be conducted off-business hours and must be supported -- these hours would be included in the total hours, but will not always be scheduled during regular business hours. These deployments can be scheduled in advance to fit individual limits, but often are conducted in the late night or early morning hours.

This position also includes production support analysis and issue resolution. It is possible that off-hours support of tier 4 issues may be required including issue triage, analysis, workaround, and core defect resolution. Familiarity with Bugzilla is desired but not required.
