Board Management Services Associate recruitment


BlackRock is looking for an employee to join the US Mutual Fund Board Governance Performance Team in the Princeton office. The US Mutual Fund Board Governance Performance Measurement Teams are responsible for supporting the needs of the mutual fund Boards of Directors and performance calculations for U.S. Retail mutual funds. This role will focus primarily on supporting the mutual funds Boards of Directors. This includes:

Furthermore, the teams work closely with Operations, Product Development, Portfolio Management, RQA, Marketing, Legal and the Boards of Directors to ensure accuracy, transparency and proper disclosure of all data and fund related information.

You will be part of the broader Business Operations and provide support to other areas as necessary. A key part of the function is maintaining good working relationship with all BlackRock counterparties, providers and internal clients.

The team and individual objective is to ensure all deliverables are delivered timely and accurately.

Key facets of the role:

1. Liaison with Fund Manager, Custodians, Operations and other external and internal parties in response to ad-hoc Director, management and client queries/requests.
2. Prepare, review and provide ad-hoc reports to clients as required.
3. Escalate all material risk items and service issues to your manager on a timely basis.
4. Maintain various performance systems including account, custom peer group and benchmark setup and maintenance
5. Work closely with all departments of BlackRock to ensure accuracy of performance calculations
6. Support Portfolio Management Group (PMG) and Global Client Group (GCG) regarding investment performance related issues
7. Coordinate and conduct special projects aside from routine job functions for the team when needed

Personal Skills Required

· Required STRONG knowledge of Microsoft Access (must be able to build a database including maintenance and modification of visual basic macros and queries)
· Strong Excel skills required
· Strong PowerPoint presentation skills
· Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining tight deadlines
· Good leadership qualities
· Ability to manage people
· Ability to cope with high work volumes
· Ability to prioritise workload
· Understanding of the investment management business
· High personal standards of conduct and integrity
· BA/BS required
· Minimum three years experience in the mutual fund industry
· Knowledge of performance calculations
· An entrepreneurial spirit that is willing to take on additional responsibility quickly
· Enjoys working in a fast-paced, high-intensity environment
· Excellent analytical and communication skills, including the ability to clearly articulate financial analyses and issues
