Bond Analyst
Emerging markets and Asia credit coverage forms an essential part of CIO's value proposition, and client holdings in that area are quite substantial both within and outside Asia. This profile supports single security selection with the corresponding top lists as well as theme generation and the Emerging Market strategy.
Key tasks and responsibilities include:
Function specific tasks:
Contribution to the global and APAC setup: The Singapore based bond analyst assumes coverage of and writes about corporates in south east Asia. Recommendations will be issued via single issuer reports as well as the contribution to the general Emerging Markets Top list. Thematic research pieces are expected as well and they form the foundation of the research based advice process. They can be authored with other asset class specialists.
Location specific tasks:
Present on the space you cover to global colleagues and clients upon request and foster close relationships with other units in the bank as well as clients. Be the point of reference in bond related matters for the south eastern regions, and be the local contact person for fixed income related matters. Media work to showcase WMR's expertise is also an option, depending on the experience of the candidate.
Back up function:
The bond analyst in Singapore is expected to be able to serve as back-up for the HK based analyst(s).
Our ideal candidate should have the following requisites:
- Holding a masters or bachelor degree in economics/financial markets is precondition to join the team
- 5 years experience or more in credit coverage in the region is desirable, as is some familiarity with macroeconomics
- Excellent spoken and written English skills are vital, an additional local language would be a big plus
- Strong presentation skills are critical
- Excellent team player capabilities: The candidate will not only work within the CIO team in Asia, but has also stakeholders outside Asia
- Postgraduate degrees are welcome
