Bookkeeper/ Accountant Job in Charleston 29401, South Carolina US

Charleston, South Carolina based insurance company seeking part time Bookkeeper/Accountant for its downtown Charleston office.  Position will initially be hourly, requiring approximately 40 hours per week with some flexibility related to schedule.  The position is initally temporary (estimate 6 to 9 months) but has potential to develop into a full time opportunity with benefits based on the individual’s performance and the company’s growth objectives.   

Primary responsibilities include general ledger maintenance, accounts payable, accounts receivable, account reconciliations, collateral administration, financial statement and report preparation and some clerical/administrative functions.  Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and have excellent computer skills.  Candidate must also have excellent organizational and analytical skills with the ability to be precise and detail oriented.  Insurance or financial service industry accounting/financial experience is a plus.  

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

Minimum of 2 years related experience
