Bookstore Manager
National operator of college bookstores seeks a store manager in Chelsea, MA. The ideal candidate must be responsible, organized, exhibit exemplary customer service skills and be an effective communicator.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Maintain high levels of customer service even during peak times of distribution
- Accountable for the receiving and control of entire store inventory
- Able to function in an environment that requires self motivation and autonomy
- Manage customer issues, inquiries, refunds and any other special services required
- Ensure that policies and procedures are followed
- Keep the working environment neat, clean, and orderly
- Train new employees when needed
- Required to work extended hours during school terms starts
Preferred Experience:
- Knowledge of domestic shipping and receiving practices to include parcel and freight carriers
- Advanced customer service experience in retail or related industries
- At least 2 years management experience
- Moderate to high level of verbal communication, listening, and problem solving skills
- Keyboarding/data entry skills (35-50 wpm)
- Moderate level of experience with Microsoft Office and Outlook
