Botanist (Senior/Principal)

Job Description We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Flora Ecologist (Botanist) in our Ecology Group. In this role you will be the technical lead on many of our projects and you will mentor a highly skilled and passionate team of ecologists. Our ecologist teams work across a variety of sectors such as mining, oil and gas, transport and government and support project decisions by delivering services such as: - Environmental planning and advice - Ecological studies - Vegetation management - Habitat offset management - Terrestrial and aquatic invasive species - Environmental management plans/systems Qualifications, skills and experience we are looking for: - 15 years of experience in the field ideally in Queensland - A degree in a science/environmental science discipline (post graduate qualifications highly regarded) - A strong background of consulting experience in design, implementation, analysis and reporting of flora/fauna surveys Experience in the development of recognised and innovative measures to mitigate impacts on flora/fauna and preparation of reports to address relevant environmental regulations - A strong working relationship with legislators and good understanding and experience in managing offsets for major projects - Someone who can demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Previous experience guiding and mentoring our people to deliver quality project outcomes - A successful track record in project management, including management of project teams, scope, schedules and budgets will be highly regarded - Solid client relationships and business development acumen will be highly regarded
