Branch Manager -
Overview of Major duties and responsibilities:
Provides a high level of service for members and employees through planning, implementing, evaluating, directing, staffing and providing open communication with members and staff.
Oversees all phases of daily branch operations and oversees the branch deposit and teller functions. Provides input to the Director of Branch Operations in order to maintain anadequate work flow. Conducts new employee orientation, performance reviews, and staff scheduling. Provides effective feedback and addresses performance issues when necessary.
Responsible for growth of the organization by increasing branch savings and loan balances, developing new business relationships in the community and maintaining existing relationships with area SEG's.
Keeps informed of the latest changes in credit union policies and procedures relating to security, compliance, rates, and consumer protection laws.
Knowledge and Skills:
Two years to five years of similar or related experience.
Education - A two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school.
Interpersonal Skills
A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and
tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or can be of a personal or
sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts
become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or
individuals) becomes necessary.
Other Skills:
1. Ability to manage and maintain a high level of education and training for all branch staff.
2. Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills along with the ability to
conduct employee training.
3. Must have working knowledge of spreadsheets and word processing software; must be
able to use a PC and all types of general office equipment.
4. Professionalism in appearance, dress, and attitude a must.
5. Comply with all credit union/departmental training requirements.
6. Occasional travel is required.
7. Strong decision making / problem solving skills are required.
8. Ability to plan and organize multiple tasks and assignments.
9. Ability to lead and motivate staff of less than ten employees.
