Brand Manager

Our client is a highly successful and profitable financial services business now looking to improve its customer journey and become a household brand name. As a result, it is now increasing its Marketing function to support these aims. The Brand Manager role is strategic in nature and requires the individual to take a broad view across the business. They will be expected to develop and maintain a brand positioning aligned around the chosen target customer set and then ensure this is embedded throughout the whole business, including: proposition, price, promotions, distribution, process and people. They will work with the whole business to implement this strategy. Other responsibilities will include setting the brand strategy to drive key brand metrics, working with IP agencies to ensure appropriate brand protection, development and maintenance of brand guidelines, development and implementation of internal engagement programmes.

Experience and skills required:

-Proven experience of developing brand positionings.
-Proven experience of developing a segmentation model (desirable) or aligning a brand around an existing segmentation model (essential).
-Proven experience of developing brand monitoring functionality both online and offline.
-Gravitas and ability to influence senior stakeholders so that they align around a chosen brand positioning.
-Previous experience as brand guardian, having developed brand guidelines and monitored adherence to them.
-Ideally will have worked on at least one major consumer facing brand.
-Experience working across a wide range of marketing disciplines including acquisition and retention.
-Strong commercial understanding helping you to drive the business forward and you will thrive in a dynamic and busy environment.
-You will have strong team building and leadership capabilities.
-You will bring imagination and a new depth of ideas and creativity.
-Sound judgement and ability to make decisions without reference above.
-You will be hard working, self motivated and able to work independently in a team orientated environment and will demonstrate a hands on work ethic.
-The ideal candidate will possess a strong sense of urgency, be able to think beyond the initial set of facts or issues and have strong orientation for probing for less than apparent solutions.
-You will have excellent written/verbal communication skills, being able to influence effectively with senior colleagues.
Computer literate in MS Office suite.
-You are an ambitious and enthusiastic person with a positive outlook who is not easily distracted or de-motivated.
-You are driven and focused on delivering results and exceeding targets. You are able to build strong relationships with internal and external customers and always willing to go the extra mile to exceed expectations.
