Job description

You are responsible for the design of the IPTV service platform as a whole and the subsystems that it comprises. These (sub)systems are composed out of rack servers running either Linux or Windows Server operating systems and offer specific functionalities (video streaming or content encryption) to the IPTV service platform. Your job covers many fields as you are responsible for design, changes and improvements of the mentioned systems, but also on a more business analyst level talking to different departments within the organization and gathering requirements.

Your job covers the following fields:

• Assist in implementation (by video solutions engineers) of these designs;
• Take care of capacity and performance planning and write respective guidelines;
• Responsible for the architecture of the IPTV service platform;
• Provide strategic support towards future platform architecture and services;
• Assist in troubleshooting outages / disturbances;
• Maintain up to date documentation design set for the platform;
• Create RFPs for the IPTV service platform and advise to management based on the evaluation of the response(s);
• Responsible for the CAPEX cost model for the IPTV service platform and services;
• Lead the team of engineers where it pertains to platform architecture and design discussions and decisions.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in a similar position;
• Result oriented;
• Strong analytic / problem solving skills;
• Relevant finished BSc / HBO (e.g. computer science, electrical engineering);
• Strong documentation skills affinity;
• Solid understanding of it systems, systems integration and networking;
• Working knowledge of Linux (redhat) and Microsoft (server 2008) operating systems;
• Working programming and scripting knowledge;
• Working understanding of software engineering processes;
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal (English=must, Dutch=pre);
• Strong motivation with the ability to work both independently and in a (multi)team environment.

Offer

Salary indication: 3000 - 4500 (monthly). Salary indication depending on experience.
