BU Accounting Analyst recruitment

A challenging key role at the financial heart of a global organization

AkzoNobel is the largest global paints and coatings company and a major producer of specialty chemicals. We supply industries and consumers worldwide with innovative products and we are passionate about developing sustainable answers for our customers.

Our organization encompasses a number of business units (BUs). The consolidation and coordination of solid, timely, and high quality reporting and accounting for all BUs is performed by the corporate ACD-FR department.

In order to help ACD-FR optimize its activities in line with AkzoNobel’s reporting requirements, we currently seek an ambitious, precise and driven

We would expect the successful applicant to take the next step up after three or four years, possibly to a position abroad.

The position is based in Arnhem, the Netherlands and you report to the Manager BU Accounting and Analysis.

Wide ranging and important responsibilities
Within this context, you have a number of principal accountabilities:

You act as the focal point for BU accounting managers and accounting personnel. This involves leading and coordinating the BU reporting process, providing feedback and monitoring BU performance.

You also perform analytical reviews on the data received from BUs . This includes validation checks on data and analysis of PL, BS and Cashflow statements. In addition to analytical review you communicate with and provide support to the parties delivering this information to ensure correct reporting thereof. Furthermore you monitor and provide support regarding the consistent application of the accounting principles as defined for AkzoNobel.

To achieve all this, you develop and maintain a strong relationship with the accounting personnel of the BU’s. You also support and interact with our consolidation processing department.

Finally, you drive and participate in improvement projects within ACD-FR.

Candidate profile
This is a key role in which you are expected to deliver the highest standards in terms of the information gathered, processed and reported. Failure to meet these standards, or those set by governmental legislators, has the potential to negatively impact on the company and its stakeholders.

You also have experience with IFRS, along with a substantial knowledge of applicable rules and regulations, as described in the Financial and Economic Manual (FEM).
