Build and Deployment Engineer – Maven – Java – Weblogic recruitment
Build and Deployment Engineer works for the Build Manager to perform day to day service transition across a variety of environments, in direct support of internal customers such as development, test, incident management, and product development personnel. The Build and Deployment engineer must have an analytical and diagnostic mindset, with the mandate to transition software efficiently and appropriately and actively be engaged in the continual service improvement process. The ability to work to a high standard to tight deadlines is essential, as well as working closely with key staff across multiple sites.
Internal Customers: Development, Test Team, Product Development Managers
Candidate requirements:
*Have understanding at a technical level and orchestrating the upgrading large, complex systems across a variety of test, development and production environments.
*Have experience of diagnostics and escalation of problems during transitions and feeding this information back to line manager.
*Be responsible for documentation and reporting of incidents and problems for discussion with the Build Manager.
*Enforce internal quality guidelines.
*Manage and maintain the build and deployment infrastructure.
*Document changes in build and deployment processes.
*And anything else that is thrown on your desk!
Core Technical Skills required:
*Exposure to a Java environment and Java Technologies (ie. basic grasp of JEE concepts, current technologies and frameworks)
*Experience using build tools and concepts such as Maven, Ant, Bash/SH,
*Basic programming experience - an understanding of code, and coding concepts.
*To take responsibility for Windows administration and investigation skills (ie. Event log, Services, etc.)
*Linux administration and investigation skills (ie. Network diagnostics, services, etc)
*Any experience of Windows build and refactoring works, particularly MSI, IIS scripting, user and account management would be useful. (Oracle Weblogic commercial exp would be very beneificial)
