Build Engineer
Essential Duties Responsibilities
• Configure, set up and manage the automated build servers
• Work with developers to generate builds, merge code, and resolve merge conflicts.
• Work with developers to ensure automated unit test suite is current.
• Review broken builds and failed unit tests and work with developers to fix the build.
• Move builds from development to QA. Track and communicate the available builds for QA.
• Work with the system administration team, technical leads, and project managers to release
builds to production
• Understand the Gateway EDI systems in order to understand impact of other production releases.
• Sit on the release management board as a representative of Team Real Time.
Qualifications
2 or 4 year degree in computer science, MIS, software engineering or equivalent experience. Minimum of 5 years experience
Knowledge/Experience
• Possess extensive experience in software development, configuration management, version control,
code merging and code branching.
• Possess thorough knowledge of Microsoft Team Foundation Server build capabilities and experience
setting up TFS as an automated build server
• Experience developing applications in C#, with emphasis on .Net 4.0 framework
• Working knowledge of iterative and /or Agile development methodologies
• Experience with continuous integration and/or delivery methodologies
• Experience working in a configuration management system with 20+ developers and experience with
automated unit testing technology and test driven development preferred.
• Must possess the ability to learn and adjust to a fast-paced environment; is open to change and able
to apply best practices when looking for solutions
• Must possess good and objective analytical skills
• Must possess the functional and technical knowledge and skills to do the job at a high level of
accomplishment and/or high-level results
• Keeps abreast of new technology, process and/or products
• Excellent communication skills and communicates with co-workers at all levels of the organization
