Build Release Engineer
The Build / Release Engineer will support code management, build script development, and build deployment activities for the development environment along with trouble shooting deployment and environment issues in the testing environments. The Build / Release Engineer will ensure builds are deployed accurately and timely as well as manage the code analysis process. The Build / Release Engineer will also assist with various test environment issues and production defect triage efforts. This role will require taking ownership of builds, deployment plans, release activities, and release calendar maintenance. Responsibility will also include build and deploy process automation. The Release Engineer needs to be highly a motivated individual who can work in a fast-paced environment and when given specific tasks can take responsibility for completing them in a timely manner without significant guidance.
Responsibilities:
- Experienced in code configuration management along with developing and maintaining build and deployment processes for Java based multi-tiered applications.
- Manage existing release process from development hand off to QA to deployment into Production
- Identify and assist in design/implementation of necessary build tools to increase release efficiency; implement various automated solutions
- Administer, manage, and maintain source control system (SVN)
- Own builds, pre-release activities and all documentation associated with them
- Implement release deployment standards; troubleshoot and fix compilation or build script issues
- Architect and design a proper build, release and revision environment
- Act as a liaison between QA, application development, and operations
- Advocate new tools and processes to continuously improve build and source control efficiency

- Demonstrated ability to identify content of rollout in conjunction with change management processes, to secure master copies of all software/hardware components scheduled for release into the environments (Test, QA, Staging and Production), and to ensure their quality, integrity and consistency.
- Willingness to participate in the rotating On-call support
- Professional knowledge level of Microsoft Office product line
- Bachelor's degree in related area (Computer Science, Engineering, or related field) or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5+ years High-tech industry, application engineering and/or IT work experience.
- 5+ years ITIL certified. Has worked in IT Environment that follows established ITIL based procedures.
Preferred:
- Familiarity with SDLC (Systems Development Life Cycle) standards and best practices to realize improved cycle times for changes to Test, QA and Production environments
- 5+ years hands-on experience managing and working with a Source Code Deployment Tool ClearCase (Midrange) and Endeavor (Mainframe)
- 5+ years experience in IT systems configuration management
