Specific Job Description The Proposal Manager will provide strategic direction and vision in the development of proposals that enable the company to capture new business and retain existing business. Responsibilities include guiding the creation of value propositions, offer designs, and other critical elements of the capture planning process; leading the development of the proposal document and overseeing all aspects of proposal publication, production, delivery and quality assurance; interpreting and understanding complicated business acquisition policies applied to the proposal from both an internal and customer perspective; managing proposal teams consisting of individuals with varying levels of expertise, authority, and responsibility and building consensus among team members to accomplish a common goal?often under difficult time constraints and competing priorities; and ensuring that all proposal development milestones are met and that the final document is fully compliant with the customer?s requirements. The Proposal Manager must demonstrate an exceptional degree of creativity, analytical thinking, and resourceful capability; possess outstanding written and oral communication skills; and have the capacity to effectively share expertise and offer advice to all levels on proposal internal/external management. Standard Job Description Evaluates and reviews consumer research, point-of-sale and syndicated data. Reports findings for major marketing, distribution, and manufacturing proposals and their impact on the sales function. Participates in the central development and implementation of new products, re-launches, new business building programs, sales rationale, etc. May also participate in presales or sales meetings to review proposed plans. Functions as liaison between regional sales and marketing function. Provides and/or initiates sales analysis affecting distribution, spending as it relates to volume, brand promotional strategy, and selling tools.
