DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:
This position is responsible for the transport of passengers (pre-school children ages 3 - 5 and adult bus monitors) safely over specified routes to and from schools/centers and field trips according to specific time schedules. This position is also responsible for the care and maintenance of their assigned vehicles and must practice sobriety and safety at all times. Persons occupying this position are prohibited from the use, sale, distribution, dispersion and possession of illegal drugs, narcotics and alcoholic beverages on company premises and during the operation of vehicles.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must possess a high school diploma or General Education
Diploma (GED).
• Must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
Class A or B with Passenger and School Bus endorsement.
• Must possess a current Alabama School Bus Driver Certificate.
• Must be able to walk, squat, kneel, bend, run and sit on the
floor/ground.
• Must be able to lift and move at least 50 - 60 lbs.
• Must meet criteria for background screening as required for
child care licensing and federal regulations.
• Must possess a certificate in Child/Infant CPR and First Aid.
• Must perform and document pre-trip and post-trip checks daily.
• Ability to supervise, coordinate and monitor activities of the bus
and Bus Monitors.
• Must be willing to adhere to federal and state regulations.
• Ability to work and communicate with people from various
socio-economic and multi-cultural backgrounds.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and automobile liability
insurance
• Ability to follow instructions and complete responsibilities.
• Must possess basic writing and math skills.
