Risk and Compliance provide risk and compliance services across all BNY Mellon businesses. Organizationally, Risk and Compliance includes the following groups: Risk Management, Compliance, Global Corporate Security, Information Risk Management and Global Business Continuity. Risk Management oversees and delivers risk services and ensures new business risks are reviewed and approved. Risk Management is organized through Chief Risk Offices for each core business and critical operation. Risk managers provide shared support to BNY Mellon for operational risk services for Global Corporate Trust, Depositary Receipts, Treasury Services and Global Operations in EMEA. Compliance helps ensure BNY Mellon's businesses maintain appropriate processes to comply with applicable laws, regulations, BNY Mellon policies and ethics. This is accomplished through business- and business partner-specific teams of professionals, under centralized global management.

Description

The job holder manages the technical aspects of certain Business Recovery Centers, as well as provides expertise in coordination of technology recovery exercises. This person is responsible to ensure all technical aspects of the Recovery Center are ready in the event of a crisis. This includes availability, accessibility to data, and connectivity. S/he also evaluates and recommends business recovery strategies to ensure the corporation's readiness and survival during and following a crisis affecting the Corporation's vital businesses. S/he manages the origination and testing of corporate business recovery plans. S/he also reports the effectiveness of business recovery plan testing within the assigned component to executive management. S/he is responsible for educating users on the business recovery software used by the Corporation.

Qualifications

Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience in business/ disaster recovery required with an in-depth understanding of Crisis Planning and Recovery Methodology. S/he must have in-depth knowledge of the working functions of the vital business units within the corporation as well as various aspects of technology, such as systems architecture, problem analysis, and system techniques. S/he must be experienced with a specific server software package and procedures related to implementation and operation. S/he must also be knowledgeable about file security and sharing facilities for local and remote access. Develops and maintains standards and procedures for tracking business recovery plans. S/he should have prior experience with the corporation's standard business recovery planning software. S/he must adapt easily to changing circumstances and dynamic environments. S/he must have strong oral and written communication skills, experience in making presentation to senior management and skilled in project management and negotiation. S/he must be able to provide appropriate counsel to and influence various levels of staff within the corporation. S//he must also be customer-service oriented, and an experienced decision maker and skilled in problem solving. B.S. or B.A. or equivalent work experience required; advanced degree or CBCP certification beneficial.
