Responsibilities: The Global Core Payments group (GCP) is responsible for designing and managing the payment mechanisms and partnerships that enable the movement of funds into and out of the PayPal system. At this time, GCP is seeking a business performance analyst to analyze website performance, trends and click stream path analysis activity to provide data driven business insights, leading to fundamental improvements to the website experience. The candidate will help monitor the functional, operational and technical performance of each of our payment platforms worldwide. In addition, this role will also perform web analytics to measure trouble shoot payment platform related performance issues and document and communicate to all relevant stakeholders the status, root causes, and corrective action. The role will be extremely collaborative and require interaction with several internal PayPal teams, including our Network Operations Center and external Financial Institution partners.
The Business Performance Analyst will:
- Perform web analytics - this includes site analysis/reporting (traffic, customer behavior,
segmentation), task completion rate analysis and recommendations. - Provide site analysis and business performance metrics to support business performance metrics dashboard and reporting.
- Perform in-depth analysis of data from multiple sources, coupled with deep
business understanding to create actionable insights on future product
opportunities. - Work with Product managers to establish thresholds for new and existing key performance indicators (KPIs), communicate findings/anomalies to payment platform owner.
- Establish performance standards for each payment type based upon industry and partner benchmarks; monitor the performance of each payment type against the expected standards.
- Perform root cause analysis of performance issues and drive their resolution by partnering with cross-functional teams and track the success of corrective actions taken to resolve issues.
- Present analytic findings opportunities to improve platform performance to senior management and summarize key findings, and aid in the dissemination of the metrics throughout the organization.
Experience/Skills:
- Requires strong technical/analytic skills to translate complex transactional data into valuable and insightful information.
- Proficiency in web analytics tools - Omniture SiteCatalyst, WebTrends, Click-Tracks, WebSideStory, Coremetrics, Google Analytics, etc
- Solid knowledge of web-site traffic/Click stream/visitor activity analysis including visitor, departure and path analysis. Knowledge of conversion analysis/best practices, web-based customer segmentation, and others. Provide business insight to suggest changes to navigation, page design, and task design.
- Experience in design of Multivariate and A/B tests (from hypothesis creation to influencing Creatives to identifying success metrics) and post test analysis. Be able to design Focus Group Discussions and User Research to understand user preferences.
- 3 years experience in extracting and analyzing data from databases (Teradata or Oracle) by designing complex SQL queries.
- Solid knowledge of fundamental Statistics - Understands statistics and market research to be able interpret Web traffic data and responsibly integrate market research findings from surveys, usability studies and interviews.
- Knowledge/Proficiency with some of the following tools: Micro-strategy. Brio, Business Objects, Cognos, etc.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis and tools (SAS or similar).
- Superior MS Excel, MS Access and MS PowerPoint skills.
- Experience in resolving complex data issues in creative and effective ways. High self-motivation for success in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Extensive experience in operational metrics analysis and implementation of portal/dashboards for the same.
