Business Analyst – Derivatives Middle Office recruitment
UBS is a leading global financial services firm. Our Investment Bank is one of the world’s top global investment banking and securities firms, providing a full spectrum of products to institutional and corporate clients, intermediaries, government and hedge funds worldwide.
The role sits within the FICC Structured Products Derivatives Middle Office area based London. The successful candidate will work within a global team of 9 onshore and 7 offshore to perform a wide range of daily controls for the Structured Credit business including:
- Intersystem and inter-desk reconciliations
- Option expiry review on complex deals
- Review of trade amends in various booking systems
- Production of daily MIS
- Monitoring of trade amendment rates/late bookings and root cause analysis
- T0 deal review
Other duties and not limited to will include:
- Performing against daily and weekly targets for clearance of control breaks
- Monitoring offshore performance against quality standards and numeric targets
- Building and leveraging relationships with the desk, Finance, Market Risk, Confirmations, Settlements, and other key stakeholders
- Standardizing and improving processes and in some cases assisting in the process of offshoring them
- Escalating breaks using a risk-based approach
- Wide range of products are supported including but not limited to CDO tranche, CLNs, SPE issuances, index options, recovery locks, and other bespoke transactions
Requirements:
- Structured Credit or similar product experience within Investment Bank Operations and understand the workings of complex trade bookings
- Previous exposure to working with internal clients (desk, finance, legal) to resolve control issues; and daily interaction with external vendors (offshore team)
- Posses an excellent understanding of operational risk and track record in eliminating or reducing levels.
- Ability to review trade documentation against system representations and identify gaps or discrepancies
- Demonstrate influencing skills and the ability to work with senior stakeholders
- Proficiency in MS Excel
