EMEA Strategic Change Management Team:
EMEA Strategic Change Management has been established to oversee and manage the complex, cross-business projects which BlackRock will need to undertake to support continued growth both regionally and globally. The current nature of financial markets means that much of the current focus will be given to regulatory driven imperatives, such as AIFMD and Solvency II.
Job Purpose/Background:
This individual will support the programme lead in the efficient execution and delivery of the overall programme plan, in particular by owning the analysis of existing systems and processes and then mapping it out with the global policies, principles and approach ensuring conformance to requirements, defining solutions to address gaps as necessary. This position required producing a detailed documentation of the analyses of various aspects of business operations, as set out below.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse functions and operations impacted by regulatory change and highlight areas that need to be addressed to be compliant
- Define the business problem and primary objectives. Identify and validate the key business requirements.
- Working with business subject matter experts, analyse, model and document the business process to create a complete picture of work-flows and technical requirements fulfilled by existing and proposed process. This will facilitate discussions and problem solving by business users and technology teams.
- Conducting user focus and solution sessions with key client subject-matter experts Work under own initiative in the context of a cross-functional team, to lead the analysis of specified topics and initiatives, identify an appropriate course of action and initiate or drive through execution, applying formal project management techniques as appropriate
- Support test planning and execution
- Data mapping, process definition implementation of business processes.
- Lead and participate in requirements walkthroughs, reviews and inspections.
- Contributing to project plans by identifying project activities, resources and dependencies and maintaining project plan documents.
Skills and Competencies:
- Proven experience working in the asset management funds industry is essential
- Knowledge of end to end asset management investment processes including trading, portfolio management, settlement, transfer agency, accounting and risk, and associated technology platform
- Experience working with investment systems, web applications and relational databases
- Experience of data mapping, defining processes and track record of implementing robust, scalable processes
- Good Visio and Excel preferred
