Business Analyst
Hello!
We are seeking a Business Analyst to join our client's team in Downers Grove, IL in a contract-to-hire capacity.
The BA will:
Responsibilities:
- Lead the definition and development of new business process requirements (*as-is* v. *to be*) and facilitate the business and functional requirements.
- Coordinate the web application development, testing, implementation and support efforts to ensure the application meets the agreed requirements as defined.
- Work closely with onshore and offshore development teams, reviewing test cases and scripts and ensure that project requirements are met.
- Lead and participate in JAD sessions.
- Facilitate user interface design, use case development and UML activity diagramming.
- Develop and maintain process and application documentation and standards.
- Apply a high standard of customer service when interacting with all levels of staff.
- Assist with other special projects or related duties as assigned.
Skills:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to translate business requirements into use cases, activity diagrams and functional specifications to define the scope and requirements for development projects.
- Ability to clearly document and communicate business concepts and validate solutions with internal clients.
- Utilize various project management, business analysis and technical skills concepts to analyse complex business problems to be solved with technical and non-technical solutions.
- Ability to read / interpret XML, XSDs, or APIs preferred.
- Talent for directing and managing the work of others as well as performing detailed tasks when necessary.
- Experience in managing and interacting with both local and virtual project teams.
- Significant demonstrations of being a 'self-starter' requiring little direct oversight in performing short term and long term tasks.
- General knowledge of B2C e-commerce business practices and processes, relational databases, and web technologies.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in business or information management or a related technical field. MBA or MS preferred.
- Experience in Agile / Scrum development a plus.
- Experience with MS Office suite, in particular MS Project, Visio, Excel and QA Tools.
In addition, the BA must be willing and able to travel internationally on short notice. S/he must also have the ability to work off-schedule hours on short notice on occasion in support of corporate initiatives or support-related efforts.
