Business Analyst

Job Description - Working within a global Murex team that is responsible for the company's derivatives technology offering, you will be responsible for the gathering of requirements, analysis and design across a Murex platform. The role will report into a Lead BA and will work directly with users to understand their business needs and ensuring efficient use of the software available.

Day to day responsibilities will include:

* Collection and management of business requirements

* Own a specified component of the transaction process or have specific alignment with a business function with regard to the Murex installation

* Structure and present ideas for improving business efficiency through the use of the Murex installation

* Ability to work at various levels, from a business perspective down to the level of system configuration including static data, market data, contract design, market risk views, reporting extracts and various work flows towards upstream and downstream applications.

 

This role will suit hungry and dynamic Business Analysts who have a deep and strong understanding of derivatives, ideally within commodities but other asset classes will be considered. You must be able to price an option or a swap, and have a strong quantitative educational background. If you have exposure to Murex this would be a massive plus to any application to the role.

Candidate Requirements -

Essential Skills - minimum 2 years experience working as a Business Analyst within a global financial trading company; in-depth product knowledge of a derivatives asset class; a minimum of Masters level or equivalent within a quantitative subject, such as Applied Math's, Physics, Statistics etc. along with a educational background in computer science.

Desirable Skills: knowledge of the Energy trading industry; experience working on the Murex trading system in a BA capacity; experience working with at least one of the following Software Development Life cycle processes - Agile, Waterfall, RUP, along with experience working with at least one of the following analysis methods - Agile, UML, process modelling.
