Overview
Treasury Information Technology (IT) is responsible for the support and development of a number of bespoke IT platforms to support the stress testing and liquidity management functions of treasury. The core functions of treasury are to manage liquidity, funding/issuance, and capital for the bank. With the increased focus on treasury by both the bank and regulators, the team has commenced a number of transformation projects to improve its technology platforms. One project is to implement a new reporting platform that will support such functions such as daily stress testing, integration of new risk methodologies and key operational reporting needs. Another project is to improve the support for the issuance of debt products and the understanding of the funding requirements of the bank.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Treasury IT Business Analyst, you will:
- Bridge the gap between the client’s needs and the technical delivery team and to help successfully deliver projects within this diverse and challenging space.
- Heavily involved at all stages of the software delivery lifecycle from initial scoping and planning exercises through to the detailed analysis and collaboration with the IT team to deliver working software.
- Define and refine business cases in conjunction with Treasury as part of the project initiation.
- Challenge, capture, and articulate requirements according to the quality standards operating within the team.
- Maintain and manage the product backlog to ensure priorities are agreed and clear with treasury.
- Be pro-active in identifying cost effective solutions to business problems.
- Act as the voice of the client throughout the development process.
- Liaise with all parties (treasury, operations, and IT delivery team) involved to ensure successful delivery.
- Assist and support Quality Assurance Testing (QAT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
- Ensure agreed analysis deliverables are prepared according to deadline of the projects.
- Mediate and resolve issues as and when they arise.
- Closely cooperate with other teams such as finance and reference data teams to ensure alignment with strategic bank IT initiatives.
- Identify areas where we can improve the analysis and delivery capabilities of the wider team.
- Keeping aware of the latest industry trends and best practice in order to improve the team.
You will have:
- Proven business analysis skills comprising of demonstrable experience in all aspects of analysis such as Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN), use cases/user story writing, data modeling, Unified Modeling Language (UML).
- Experience in stakeholder management and building excellent professional relationships.
- Experience within financial services, with an understanding of investment banking in general with specific knowledge of Treasury functions.
- Experience of working within a full project life cycle from initiation through to delivery.
- Experience of working with an agile methodology would be an advantage.
- Experience of liaison with other departments (i.e. business units, infrastructure teams, audit) across multiple countries.
- Experience in working with remote client and vendor resources.
- Experience in identifying and documenting client technical needs, internal structures, procedures, workflows and systems.
- Experience working on projects requiring data analysis and familiarity with reporting and relational database technologies.
- Proven track record of delivering projects in a challenging environment.
- Fantastic written and oral communication skills.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrable success in meeting deadlines and operating with clients and vendors.
- Proven experience of working to schedules, potentially across multiple projects and teams.
