Business Analyst

The Company

Robert Half Technology are working with a leading global investment bank, with operations globally to secure a Lead Business Analyst to drive implementation a key 3rd party technology that will impact the front to back trading landscape, focusing primarily on partnering the existing team to convert a large volume of requirements into documentation, and subsequent user stories / test cases.

The Role

The Lead Business Analyst will assume a key role within a new, high profile, global project. Its primary objective is to measure report, and facilitate the management of all of the market risk across group, covering sensitivities, stress testing, PL attribution, VaR, and some aspects of issuer risk. The implementation will be hosted in London but it is likely travel to the other centres will be required through the project, which is anticipated to run for 18 months. The Business Analyst will have the significant responsibility and accountability for specifying business requirements, reviewing and challenging functional and technical requirements. They will also be the Lead Business Analyst for coordinating the interface with systems analysts and developers, designing and executing test scripts, communicating the results and producing the written analysis that will ultimately be used to sign-off each functional requirement and accept vendor delivered code.

The critical requirements are that the Business Analyst has worked on a significant front office systems implementation in which they have partner a team of subject matter experts to drive analysis into structured documentation, and then working to steer vendors and the internal development function towards user stories and test cases. The Business Analyst will take responsibility for delivery of the business requirement documents in a structured MoSCoW template, and ultimately focus on creation and management of user stories and/or use cases - depending on the approach taken. This hire will assume a key role in reviewing and challenging functional and technical specifications. They will be responsible for leading the business team in designing and executing test scripts against the specifications (that includes destructive testing to ensure the production environment will behave as expected), and for the design and articulation of the data quality control framework from a business perspective.

The Business Analyst in this role will need to be accustomed to representing business requirements in software development workshops, and the identification of issues and appropriate escalation to more senior management. They will have a proven track record of successful business analysis within complex financial services software development projects, working with users, senior management and stake holders across multiple disciplines. It is critical this hire has strong experience of mapping requirements to third party software features and defining acceptance tests, and across the detailed practical application of business analysis within Front and Middle Office environments. The Business Analyst will have a proven track record of writing structured business requirements; be comfortable with business analysis within Agile development projects; and have knowledge and practical application expertise with UML or RUP.

£550-£600/Day
