Business Analyst- Basel III recruitment
The Retail and Wealth Treasury team provide a treasury service for the UK Retail and Wealth divisions. They are accountable for three key activities: asset liability management, interest rate risk management and balance sheet management.
In addition, there are a number of projects that are managed by the function, that also span Finance and Group Treasury areas:
Implementation of the Basel III regulatory requirement for Wealth Treasury focusing upon its impact on regulatory reporting and liquidity.
UK Retail and Wealth – the roll out of BancWare for the modelling of interest rate risk, according to multiple scenarios
Outline of Role and Responsibilities
The role holder will be involved in a portfolio of Treasury sponsored projects, which are expected to continue until end of the last quarter of 2012. It is expected that the role holder will execute deliverables through prioritising activities and balancing conflicting demands.
Project Focus
The roll out of the regulatory Basel III requirement for Wealth Treasury will need provision of planning, relationship management, business and data analytical support to the projects:
• In conjunction with the Senior Business Analysts and Retail and Wealth Treasury Projects Manager, input to delivery solution, requirements and specification gathering
• Delivery of comprehensive and clear reports detailing analysis undertaken and conclusion(s) reached plus status updates (PMO)
• Production and validation of technical documentation, with a focus upon data mapping and data flows understanding the business environment
• Formulation of test scripts and actual testing of IT delivered solutions through UAT
• Co-ordinating and producing project documents
• Engagement with Business teams to assure validation of requirements
Skills and Experience: Essential
Advanced PC skills, including the ability to use PowerPoint and other applications to produce reports, spreadsheets and presentations of quality, suitable for the audience, preferably developed from PMO experience.
A comprehensive knowledge of the following:
• Volume data manipulation
• MS Access
• Excel 2003/07
• MS Project
• MS Visio
Excellent communication and documentation skills with the ability to consolidate disparate information into specifications for multiple audiences.
An ability to establish and build relationships across the RBS Group to facilitate achievement of project and BAU deliverables.
Skills and Experience: Desirable
Experience / knowledge of SQL/PL SQL, plus use of SQL Management Studio would be a distinct advantage.
Experience of project management methodologies over the full project lifecycle, including documentation standards, risk modelling, change controls, quality (control and security) frameworks and compliance.
Knowledge of banking, products and terminology; understanding of treasury concepts and the regulatory framework with emphasis upon liquidity.
