Business Analyst - Commodities Trading / ETRM

Business Analyst required by leading Energy Trading company in London to work with the Business and support functions, software development teams, project teams and BA colleagues to assess, shape and deliver - tactical and/or strategic developments and business process re-engineering - small business change and BAU tasks;
• Consult with key business stakeholders to understand and document processes, develop the business case, document requirements, develop specifications and acceptance criteria where appropriate;
• Complete process mapping in line with industry standard;
• Work with business to understand areas for continuous improvement;
• Work in conjunction with business and support functions to ensure system design and delivery results in efficient processes;
• Represent Business Capability in projects as required, for instance SAP phase 2

• Demonstrable experience of coordinating complex projects/initiatives
• Able to meet tight deadlines and negotiate in a pressurised environment
• Excellent communication skills e.g. written, verbal and presentation

Experience
 • Exposure to commodities deal lifecycle management, preferably including at least 3 of the following: - Valuation - Confirmations - Invoicing Settlements - Market Data Feeds and Curve Management
• Good understanding of typical IFRS driven valuation differences between Market Risk and Finance advantageous;
• Experience and understanding of Finance processes in a trading environment advantageous;
• Demonstrable business analyst experience in a trading environment ideally an energy (or commodity) trading company or consultancy (ideally European markets or global perspective) required;
• Experience of specifying and writing user specifications and business requirements for development teams required;
• Experience of process mapping required;
• Project management or change management experience preferable;
• Experience of significant involvement in large projects, e.g. SAP and/or Endur implementation, advantageous.
