The New Products, Media and Platforms (NPMP) group is the link between Product and Sales at Google. NPMP helps take product innovations and turns them into client solutions that enable our customers to get the most out of their spend with Google. NPMP team members ensure we have the right commercial strategy for our products and bring product expertise to Sales, enabling front-line Sales partners to sell effectively and quickly. The role: Business Analyst, Commerce Merchant Solutions
The role of Business Analyst for the Commerce team is an integral part of Google's scaling effort. The candidate will provide mission critical analysis to support the business decisions and strategy, thus heavily influencing our business growth trajectory.
You will be responsible for analyzing financial terms to ensure optimal performance for both the partner and Google. You will perform market level analysis on the portfolio of partners to ensure optimization of revenue, based on factors including schedules, pricing, traffic, categorical volume mix etc. Further, you will conduct analysis on program performance, including segmentation approach. You will generate performance reports for both internal use and external consumption of our partners. Lastly, you will be responsible for forecasting, and assist in business planning process.
This role reports to the Local Market Category Manager role who manages a portfolio of markets. You will also work closely with other business functions including Sales Finance, and planning team.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for performing holistic analysis on specific partnership programs as well as quarterly and annual strategic planning and working closely with Sales Finance and planning team
- Optimize revenue by analyzing factors including all aspect of program details, pricing, and traffic volume
- Analyze program performances and generate reports for both internal and external use
- Analyze user segmentations to advance our value proposition and further optimize our product offerings
- Perform market level forecasting, planning, and recommend strategies to scale growth
Minimum Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree (In lieu of degree, 4 years relevant work experience).
- 2 years of work experience in sales-related planning and operations in the high tech field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3 years of relevant work experience.
- Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills - with experience interacting with senior-level executives.
- Highly analytical, and demonstrated track record of strong problem solver and quantitative mind, capable of translating analytical insights into business strategies and actions.
- Strong creativity and innovation in discovering actionable results and strategies and ability to succeed in a collaborative, start-up paced environment.
