Business Analyst - Commodities
The core functions of this role are to develop, implement and support the risk requirements of the Commodities Energy Market Risk team. This will be achieved by:
• careful analysis of business requirements (both tactical and strategic);
• leading analysis on development, design and testing;
• consulting with the Risk Programme Team, market risk managers and stakeholders in the Firm;
• identifying gaps and defining new user requirements;
• managing own workstream;
• managing user acceptance testing.
This role is aimed at a self-starter, experienced business analyst, Commodities,who can take on responsibilities independently for project delivery with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience of Business Analysis in financial services area ideally with experience in Market Risk projects or Market Risk analysis. The ideal candidate would also have the confidence and experience to deal with development teams to support them in development and system testing stages.
The candidate should be able to understand simple mathematical risk related concepts (e.g. VaR) and able to model these using Excel macros.
The candidate is expected to have strong client facing skills
This is an ideal role to apply past Business Analysis experience in a structured Prince2 environment and will provide significant opportunities to build up Market Risk knowledge for a variety of products.
Responsibilities
Production of business requirements for project initiatives within the area, which includes overall responsibility of analysis, documentation, and testing of Risk Management business requirements.
Supporting end-to-end development in various project stages, especially the Testing of business requirements
Able to stand in as a SME in various project meetings while communicating with development teams and external clients.
Maintain working relationships with stakeholders in other departments to facilitate a consistent approach to business analysis within LCH.Clearnet.
Required skills and experience
Experience working in a business analysis related role in financial services area
Experience in financial services area
Experience in working in Market Risk Business Analysis
Product knowledge of listed derivatives (futures options)
Intermediate Excel skills - ability to write macros and access code
Experience of the full change/systems development lifecycle
Experience of Prince 2 project management methods
Knowledge of structured development methods
Professional qualification (which includes business analysis discipline)
Understanding of data modelling concepts and SQL
University degree in Finance or related area
