Business Analyst – Counterparty Credit Basel III recruitment
Overview:
A key responsibility of the Counterparty Capital Management (CCM) team is to forge strong partnerships with multiple functions and business areas across the Group (primarily focused on the IB) to successfully assess, analyse and manage the delivery of regulatory driven change related to Counterparty Credit Risk (CCR).
The roles require two subject matter experts and two business analysts to interpret regulatory changes impacting on Counterparty Credit Risk (CCR) exposure to OTC derivatives, repo and exchange traded derivatives transactions and translate them into requirements. Topics currently under immense scrutiny include the processes around Expected Positive Exposure and Credit Value Adjustments, collateral management, wrong way risk mitigation and stress testing.
The roles also encompass an understanding of the counterparty credit capital composition that is required to support the international entities and an assessment in relation to their risks by supporting the impact studies requested by senior management and/or regulators.
The successful candidates will join a global team within Risk Control Operations (reporting to the Head of Exposure Management RWA) and will gain significant exposure to all aspects of the Credit and Market Risk environment while being a key part of one of the bank’s strategic projects.
The Business Analyst will be expected to:
- Engage with clients to clarify and understand the business requirements
- Engage with relevant IT staff and clients to propose solutions
- Organize and lead Requirements Review meetings for IT and for the clients, capturing sign-offs, decisions made and actions arising
- Ensure timely delivery of requirements documents in line with project milestones
- Learn and understand the technical landscape of the systems
- Perform ad-hoc investigations on the systems to answer questions arising during all development phases
- Act as SME for post-implementation support of changes
Experience:
- Proven business analysis experience on large projects within a Risk or Front Office environment
- Very strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work at a fast pace in a team and adapt style to ensure the project is successful
- A self-starter who can proactively engage with peers and clients to ensure timely completion of deliverables
- Able to take the IT during initiation phase of projects, working closely with business leads
- Detailed understanding of Financial products and Credit Risk Management
- Experience of working on large projects
- Experience of working on large / complex systems
Desirable Requirements:
- CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst). Candidate or full member
- Experience working with Basel II / III and / or CRD III / IV
