Business Analyst – Custody recruitment
Job Description:
The primary focus for this IT Business Technology specialist role is to formulate and define systems scope and objectives for complex, high-impact projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, systems and industry standards. This requires close consultation with the business clients to determine system functional specifications and partners with multiple teams to ensure appropriate integration of functions to meet goals.
Required Skills:
- Should possess a bachelor’s degree/masters degree in computer science/ finance or its equivalent.
- Atleast 8 years of experience in a global financial environment as business analyst.
- Specialized knowledge in business analysis in Custody domain (both Global and Domestic Custody).
- Experience in Asset servicing business, Funds and Securities is very important.
- Successful candidate should have a good technology understanding to liaise with developers to translate the functional specifications to technical specifications.
- Should possess effective communication skills and interpersonal skills to interact with business users, stakeholders and vendors across the region.
Responsibilities:
- Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
- Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and workflow analysis.
- Proactively communicate and collaborate with external clients and internal partners to analyze information needs and functional requirements.
- Drive and challenge business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans.
- Develop requirements specifications according to Citi standard templates.
- Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.
- Evaluates new IT developments and evolving business requirements and recommends appropriate systems alternatives and/or enhancements to current systems.
- Considers the business implications of the application of technology to the current business environment; identifies and communicates risks and impacts; proposes risk mitigation options.
- Influences strategic functional decisions through advice, counsel or provided services which directly impact the business.
- Serves as the conduit between the customer community (internal and external customers) and the technology team through which requirements flow.
