BUSINESS ANALYST – DATA recruitment
The ideal candidate will have a strong core BA skill set with a particular emphasis on a data background. They will work closely with the project manager to gather business requirements and create data models.
Core Responsibilities:
- Gathering of business requirements for small change initiatives.
- Production of process maps for ‘as is’ and ‘to be’ processes, and production of use cases where appropriate.
- Stakeholder management.
- Detailed analysis on the requirements and ways to meet those requirements in conjunction with the development.
- Coordination of feasibility studies, gap analysis exercises if needed.
- Recording issues and risks.
- Reporting progress to small change manager, stakeholders.
- Presenting overall solution to stakeholders to obtain buy in, presentations, slide packs, documents, forums etc.
- Definition of business and system support models.
- Peer reviews of colleagues deliverables in order to drive up quality and ensure consistency.
- Identifying, recommending and delivering opportunities for improvement to enhance quality, efficiency and effectiveness of deliverables.
- Liaison with third party suppliers.
Core Requirements:
- Demonstrable understanding of the Investment Management industry, processes and practices.
- Proven track record of business facing BA/consultancy roles within Investment Management.
- Full project Lifecycle experience.
- Senior Stakeholder management experience.
- Experience in Data Analysis.
- Hands-on business analysis and configuration experience, including basic SQL skills to extract and manipulate data, data modelling/mapping skills to configure interfaces.
- Widespread experience in Requirements Engineering and Management i.e. identify, produce, analyse and prioritise requirements.
- Must be able to model and design solution alternatives i.e. evaluate solution, approve the solution with the stakeholder, work with IT to create the specification, support the development during the construction phase, assist in Business Acceptance Test activities and facilitate sign off of the new solution.
- Experienced in leading working groups, taskforces, etc.
- Strong analytical, conceptual and quality awareness skills.
- Of particular interest is experience with data source master files and “golden copy” data.
