Business Analyst, Distribution Solutions recruitment
The Aladdin trading and risk management system, used internally at BlackRock and by BlackRock Solutions clients, enables customers to manage over $5 trillion in financial assets. Aladdin is central to our technology strategy, unifying BlackRock by providing everyone with a common language and a central point of reference for our investment activities globally.
The Aladdin and Application Engineering teams within the Aladdin Technology group use the latest technologies to design and develop applications that make up the firm's investment management platform. The systems support the full lifecycle of the investment management process, from quantitative risk management to order entry, trade routing and settlement.
Role Responsibility
The business analyst will be responsible for the requirements definition effort for all channels across the APAC region. The business analyst will work with channel RM leads and business partners from GCG and GMC to initiate, size and define the requirements for projects. The business analyst will also take on project coordination and project reporting responsibilities to support the global team. The business analyst will also work on day to day operational issues as required and liaise with Biz Ops and other A T tribes as necessary.
Key Roles Responsibilities
• Understand the business strategy and short term plans for individual countries, channels in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region and how these relate to Distribution Solutions.
• Understand the priority of projects and requirements and they relate back to firm wide Blackrock priorities
• Work with the business partners in GCG and GMC and DS channel relationship management leads to initiate work requests (PIDs, JIRAs)
• Capture business requirements in agreed format and quality (business requirements document, data dictionary, use cases, UI mock ups)
• Support the Technical Analyst, Development and Testing teams in understanding the business' requirements and priority
• Work with technical analyst to translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications eg. attend daily dev standups, iteration kick offs, technical reviews
• Work with the Test Lead to create test cases, review all test cases for accuracy and participate in user acceptance testing
• Develop subject expertise across iShares ETF, Retail mutual funds, Institutional and other DS domains such as Web, Product Data, Mobile, CRM etc. Act as Subject Matter Expert in DS domains.
• Understand and support the prioritisation of conflicting business requests across regions and channels
• Develop and manage detailed project plans that identifies tasks, major milestones, dependencies, and risks
• Manage project reporting on pipelines and resourcing for various global and regional initiatives
• Investigate and deliver resolution of day-to-day operational issues that may not be project specific
Skills Experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including interviewing stakeholders.
• Ability to design and document procedures and internal controls including documenting business requirements and process mapping, preparing gap analysis including review of system functionality
• Drive resolution through "hands-on" approach
• Ability to balance conflicting requirements and work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
• Demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst
• Project management certification and experience
• Systems implementation experience
• Chinese language skills are preferred but not essential
