Business Analyst – Equities Investment Management recruitment
The role of Business Analyst is viewed as critical to the ongoing success of their Technology transformation. This role will commence the analysis required for the future Equities phase currently being planned.
The Business Analyst is a key role, as you will be viewed as a subject matter expert with the perfect mix of asset class knowledge alongside Technology expertise. This role will include detailed requirements gathering as well as understanding and documenting business processes through both individual interactions and facilitation through workshops. In addition, hands on experience around systems and QA testing and ensuring the end deliverable meets the requirements is key to ensuring success.
There are also a number of service requests that come from the business, which would need to be supported through pieces of tactical work. The successful candidate will have experience of quickly prioritising current processes and providing analysis around possible short-term solutions required to maintain services until a full strategic solution is available.
The role will give the successful candidate exposure to all of the systems used by the Equity business areas. Your key accountabilities:
- Establishing/maintaining good working relationships with the business users and act as a point of contact on Equity systems related issues
- Current state analysis including requirements gathering and process flow documentation
- Provide technical input into development projects to the point of design
- Producing, checking and assessing project documentation
- Develop technical and functional specs and relay this to developers
- Take responsibility for the quality of project deliverables to the business including the organising and participating in project testing through to business sign off, project implementation, completion and post implementation reviews
- Ability to understand detailed systems designs documentation
- Provide training and assistance to users
- Problem troubleshooting and solving - owning, coordinating and managing the implementation of a solution
- Communicating relevant, timely information to users, systems teams and management
- Represent the group professionally at project and appropriate business meetings
- Ensuring the links with external systems remain fully functioning and efficient
- Flexible and adaptable approach to work, with a willingness to undertake tasks outside of your core skillset
The successful candidate would be expected to have strong business analysis skills with a proven record of project participation and delivery ideally gained within an investment management business. The ability to understand technical design and assess approach to rectify any issues encountered is also extremely important.
We are ideally looking for a candidate to have been involved in similar projects from inception, as the Business Analyst will need to provide input into the planning stage. The successful candidate will ideally come from a technical/business background and have gained strong business analysis skills along with strong equity product knowledge. You will need to be able to demonstrate experience in:
- Investment Management business focused on Equities
- Strong business analysis skills with a proven record of project participation
- Facilitation of business technology workshops including walkthroughs for users of all levels
- Obtain business understanding and agreement on technology deliverables
- Ability to understand technical issues and contribute to successful solutions
- Working knowledge of project/development life cycles including formal methods
- Driving reviewing test scripts for both system integration and user acceptance testing
- Able to work to tight deadlines and manage several tasks concurrently
- Exposure to working with global teams and large scale technology platform implementations
- Knowledge of the Equities business within an Asset Management environment is highly desirable
- Experience with leading Order Management and Trading Systems e.g. Bloomberg POMS, Charles River, Latent Zero, Longview, ThinkFolio
- Experience of electronic Trading platforms
- Experience of agile and iterative development
