Business Analyst – Equity Operations (London) recruitment
A Tier One Investment requires a Business Analyst to work in their Equities Business area. The Equity Business has a number of unique complexities and a large programme of Integration and Investment work has been initiated to support business growth and new initiatives.
As part of this programme of work substantial investment is to be made to the core Equity operational systems.
Roles/Responsibilities
An Operations business analyst is required to join the team and own functional components of the project from inception through to delivery. In this case the BA would be required to focus on analysis of the Cash Equities Operations functions in conjunction with the related Trading, Finance and Risk functions.
Involvement with and/or production of:
- Project Approach
- Project Planning - including dependencies / impacts on the Business / Operations / finance / risk.
- Conducting operational Change Impact Analysis
- Owning the agreed Business Solution across operations
Delivery:
- Develop and define Change requirements
- Ensure there is consistency between the business requirements and the implementation solution
- Co-ordination and ensuring cross operational functional requirements are met including BAU
- Implementation approach and planning
- Migration Planning
- Test planning and preparation if required
- Test Management if required
- Issue management and resolution
- Define delivering operational model changes
Skills/Experience
Knowledge of Cash Equity and Equity Finance Operations processes:
- Have a comprehensive understanding of current market processes and practices across the cash equities / equity finance trade lifecycle
- Strong understanding of Cash Equity / Equity Finance and Operations processing
- Strong understanding of Operational risks and controls
Project Analysis Change skills, including:
- Documentation of plans, models, concepts and processes
- Be able to solve complex problems across a broad range of disciplines (functional as well as project-orientated)
- Be able to identify and document business requirements, test scripts, migration approaches, etc in a structured and logical fashion
- Identify project risks, assess and quantify their impact, and develop actions or plans that mitigate them.
- Utilise specific business or management knowledge that can be clearly brought to bear in improving what and how Production and Change can be improved
- Constructively challenge processes, approaches and attitudes where this will result in improvement or value to Operations Production, or will bring ideas for improvements in terms of both resource and project management
- Understand the bigger picture and ensure relative priority and perspective is brought to bear
- Be able to adapt to change quickly, be it the focus of a project or the workload or content of a particular day
- Work well in a team in a pressurised environment where not all structures, processes and hierarchies are clearly formulated or are subject to rapid change.
