Business Analyst — Finance and Accounting Background Job in Commerce 90040, California US

Position Summary

NYX, Los Angeles, Inc. is currently looking to hire a Business Analyst to support the CFO, Business Analysis Manager and the Finance Department. The incumbent will be responsible for a full range of activities which will ensure operational effectiveness and excellence. This role will focus on maintaining day to day ERP system maintenance, EDI implementations, and assisting in ad hoc reporting. This individual will work on a broad range of projects to bring efficiency to business processes and procedures. Furthermore, the individual will proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal sources to determine how to best support all areas of the business through the effective use of technology.

Essential Responsibilities

·         Run and analyze standard reports

·         Data auditing against multiple sources of data

·         Support for users of reports

·         Assist with EDI implementations

·         Analyze business requirements and define solutions to address business needs

·         Enforce project deadlines and schedules

·         Uphold company standards when conducting projects

·         Effectively communicating with internal teams and external clients to deliver functional requirements

·         Acting as an interface between business units, technology teams and support teams

·         Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs

Minimum Requirements

·         Strong Microsoft Excel background with excellent attention to detail

·         Experience with budgeting, forecasting and consolidations.

·         Experience with ERP software and implementations, Great Plains knowledge preferred

·         Experience with business reporting tools, such as BI360, SRS Reporting

·         Experience with system integrations

·         Knowledge and experience of EDI processes and implementations

·         Strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and work effectively/efficiently independently or with minimal supervision

·         Ability to communicate effectively on job-related issues

·         Must possess strong judgement, problem solving and analytical skills

·         Strong customer service skills, including the ability to remain flexible in high pressure or continually changing situations

·         Excellent verbal and oral communication skills

·         Ability to interface with colleagues at all levels

 

Education and Experience Requirements

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Business from a credited University.

·         Concentration in Accounting, Finance, or Information Systems preferred.

·         2-3 years of relevant work experience

Desirable Criteria

·         Retail or Wholesale Distribution background a plus
