Business Analyst – Financial Control / Finance Change
For this top Tier 1 Investment Bank we are looking for a Business Analyst to work within the Financial Control Change Management Team supporting the implementation phase of FinRep a standardised EU-wide framework for reporting financial accounting data.

Main Duties
The primary objective of the business analyst will be to work on business change projects within Financial Control. Working closely with Finance staff, IT and other stakeholders (e.g. Credit, Regulatory, Tax) the analyst will be expected to:
- Proactively follow up issues and actions with business and IT stakeholders and ensure that the project manager is kept informed
- Work with users to document and establish target business operating model
- Document existing and target business processes within Financial Control, including holding workshops with stakeholders to extract information
- Identify process improvement opportunities and assist users in transition to new business processes.
- Work with business / IT stakeholders to analyse issues and propose solutions
- Identify issues and actions and ensure they are documented in the CRAID log
- Document business requirements for IT development required, including liaising with IT analysts to ensure business requirements are understood
- Produce test plans and test scripts to enable thorough user acceptance testing of the IT and process changes.
- Plan and coordinate go-live preparation and cutover activities
Person Requirements
Essential
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to take ownership and responsibility, proactively managing work through to completion, within deadlines.
- Experience of writing clear and comprehensive business requirements which can be passed to the IT team for build.
- Experience of documenting business processes and working on projects involving significant process changes.
- Experience of writing and executing test scripts and of managing the UAT phase of a project.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, including the ability to identify all options and make a recommendation on the best option for a particular situation
- Strong stakeholder management skills. Excellent people and influencing skills.
Preferred (not essential at this point in the career, if the candidate can demonstrate good future potential and positive attitude)
- Ability to take on wider project management responsibilities over time.
- Investment banking experience, product knowledge, prior knowledge / experience of Finance line roles.
Understanding of industry best practice business analysis methodologies.
