Business Analyst – Front Office

For this large Wealth Management organisation we are looking for a Business Analyst. The role holder will provide business analysis services within the UK Private Bank business area for the UK Strategy Programme which is a part of the wider Transform Programme.  The key element for the UK Strategy Programme is to drive the people, proposition; client segmentation and migration requirements of the Transform agenda as it applies to the UK Private Bank

The role will include, but not be limited to, robust data analysis, producing and contributing to the presentation of such analysis and support of the administrative functions of the programme.  It will involve process construction and documentation as well as general support for the wider project team as required.  The role holder will work closely with other areas of the various project streams in order to ensure consistency of approach and the best outcome in all areas of the programme.

Core accountabilities

Business Relationship: Liaise with Business (product specialists, asset managers, investment managers, etc) to define, document and then manage the requirements of the various work-streams.  Undertake investigations of data and processes, engage with the business to extract required data to help formulate the client database - where necessary engaging with (where discretions allows) front office staff in order to understand the needs of the business, but also to gather missing information required for quality analysis to take place.

 

Engaging with authorised control functions such as legal and compliance to ensure that implications from relevant regulations are understood and build into processes and control frameworks as necessary.

 

Key clients (internal and external)

Technology – Platform Delivery Owners, Project Managers, Technical Delivery Teams

Business – Product Business sponsors and representatives for the assigned projects. Product Business covers investment management, asset management, investment advisors, product specialists, performance, distribution and due diligence.  Operations Change Team and Operations Project Manager.  Business Management and Change teams. All stakeholders as allowed within the confidential nature of the project

 

Role requirements

Professional/technical experience

The right candidate will have excellent and recent experience/understanding of working on complex banking change programmes.  In particular the following must be evident:  requirements gathering including business process modelling, analysis and functional design, writing business and process documentation, system/data analysis and data interrogation. The role holder will be able to identify, attempt to rectify and appropriately escalate issues and risks whilst having an analytical and methodical approach to problem solving, with attention to detail at all times. Have good knowledge of the front to back processing required in Wealth businesses; and have experience of system/platform migrations and post merger implementation experience.  The role holder must be able to speak coherently and commercially to the business.    

 

Front office experience and understanding is essential.
