Led by our Chief Investment Officer, the Investments department manages a $75 billion consolidated investment portfolio and consists of more than 160 investment professionals focused on asset management, trading, portfolio management, risk management, finance and accounting functions.
Summary
The business analyst reports to the investments data systems manager as part of Investments Reporting and Data Governance. The business analyst's primary role is to serve as the liaison between key business areas, senior leadership, Finance, Operations, and IT Development and Support.
Data Systems Management is responsible for soliciting business requirements, offering creative solutions, and ensuring that our database systems are meeting business needs. The team is also responsible for supporting business strategy within Investments.
• Elicit business requirements using appropriate tools and techniques including but not limited to interviews, document analysis, surveys, use cases, scenarios, business process, task and workflow analysis
• Track and prioritize business requests
• Collaborate with business process owners to identify and maximize opportunities to use information and technology to improve investments data, analytics, and business processes
• Engage with project stakeholders and motivate project team members toward common goals and objectives
• Investigate process and data issues and coordinate efforts for resolution
• Analyze and evaluate data gathered from multiple sources
• Assist reporting team and other Business Objects users with complex queries
Basic Candidate Qualifications:
• BA/BS in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience
• 3 - 5 years experience in investments or financial services
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications with very strong Excel skills)
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Excellent attention to detail and an inquisitive mind
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team
• Strong verbal and written communication with ability to articulate problems and solutions to all levels of the business
• Ability to balance managing multiple tasks, projects and processes (negotiating and listening skills)
• Ability to troubleshoot complex problems, identify opportunities across multiple work streams and reporting structures, and drive resolutions to completion
Preferred Candidate Qualifications:
• MBA and/or CFA in process
• Desire to obtain advanced investment knowledge
• SAP Business Objects skills
• Strong process mindset
• Project management experience
