Georgia-Pacific is recruiting a Business Analyst to support our Packaging segment. The Business Analyst will be a key member of the Bleached Board and Reusable Plastic Container business units and will report to the Senior Manager of Analysis for the Bleached Board unit. Responsibilities will include:
- Financial analysis and reporting support for the business units
- Work closely with the Senior Business analysts to understand, improve and automate reporting
- Participate in outlook, plan, hold value and strategy development
- Effectively communicate relevant information to prioritize management action toward highest value opportunities and minimize ‘data overload’
- Consolidate and report on progress made regarding business priorities/strategies
- Develop systems and processes to ensure adequate measurement and reporting is in place to validate venture values, capture knowledge from controlled experimentation, spot potential trends and opportunities, and highlight operational successes and opportunities
- Provide sales data cube support/validation
- Creating and/or contributing to economic analysis for capital expenditures and commercial ventures
- Ad hoc financial analysis for the business units
- Work with business leaders and team members on special projects and analysis
- Position will require minimal travel
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required, major in Accounting or Finance preferred
- Master’s degree preferred
Basic Qualifications:
- 2+ years performing financial analysis
- Advanced Excel skills
- Experience using PowerPoint and Word
Knowledge – Skills – Abilities:
- Strong communication skills including oral, written, presentation and active listening
- Ability to successfully communicate with various levels of the organization
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload
- Understand and embrace the Market Based Management philosophy
