Business Analyst Job in Beaverton, Oregon US
This is a BI BSA role a Beaverton, Oregon client.
Functions Include:
- Collaborate with business units to analyze incoming requests for Product Creation data
- Review existing tools/processes and recommend how these may be implemented within the Cognos/Teradata infrastructure
- Provide innovative ideas for Cognos/Teradata solutions based on documented requirements
- Research requirement/data discrepancies between new solutions and legacy solutions
- Act as a liaison between global/local business customers and IT engineers to get project tasks completed on a timely basis
- Participate in and provide documentation for QA and UAT testing phases
- Be an expert at troubleshooting techniques to diagnose and resolve issues quickly
- Review and provide feedback on conceptual designs
- Provide guidance to IT engineers to ensure solutions are robust and meet business requirements
- Provide guidance on portal user experience
- Utilize solid communication skills
The selected Business Analyst will work with the investigation, analysis, and documentation of all or part of a business in terms of business functions and processes, and the information they use. The definition of requirements is for improving any aspect of the processes and systems. The creation of viable specifications is for the preparation for the construction of information systems. Work with business to define business / product requirements. Work independently or in a team to interview end users of systems, collect requirements, develop use cases, and work with application engineers to develop one or more business systems. Consult with business users to provide them with the knowledge needed to run their business which may include business or technical knowledge. You may be asked to investigate and provide a solution to the problem at hand.
Specific Skills of the Business / Report Analyst:
- 5+ years of experience with requirements gathering
- 4-6 years of working with solutions options
- 4+ years of experience working with Cognos BI Tools, SQL, solid communications, Data Structures, and the ability to provide a solution to the problem at hand
