As a business partner to the Grocery commercial function provide financial/analytical support and challenge to drive strategy aligned value growth. Key finance partner of the Strategic Pricing and Promotions team to enable optimal pricing and promotional plans and the ongoing governance.

Requirements

Broad business and commercial awareness with a strategic mind-set

Strong analytical skills

Strong presentation skills

Ability to engage and influence across a range of business functions

Ability to take the initiative to deliver business solutions

Ideally FMCG experience

Degree preferred

Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent)

Responsibilities

Take a lead finance role in supporting the Grocery account terms negotiations. Ensure that modelling is financially robust and challenge to ensure delivery of value ambition. Ensure trading terms are financially appraised in line with internal guidelines. Effectively communicate to all relevant business functions and ensure link with business processes i.e. financial planning / benefit tracking and capital tracking

Perform analysis of promotional activity, the key outputs being;

Actionable insight regarding the key drivers of promotional performance with focus on internal and external market considerations

Review and update as required of promotional guidelines

Produce analysis of promotional activity to support/validate quarterly forecasts

Effective, action-orientated, communication to all relevant commercial functions

Finance representative on forum for governance of promotion sign-off - input and challenge as required

Finance lead in support of the annual review of GB pricing, robust decision support through valuation of pricing proposals and owner of post implementation benefit tracking

Step up to support / substitute for the Grocery BAM where required - specifically around financial planning and business performance management discussions

Lead the finance work-stream on business projects as required

Support other BAMs when business priorities necessitate this
