Business Analyst Job in Durham, North Carolina US
Queen Associates and our client are seeking two Business Analysts for two 3 month right-to-hire contracts. All candidates need to be local to the Durham/Raleigh area. These individuals will be providing analytical support in the conceptualization, development and implementation of complex system projects pertaining to enterprise reporting and Business Intelligence.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze and evaluate clinical project requirements.
- Identify development tools or reporting databases that can be used to improve efficiency and quality of service.
- Utilize system information and expertise and thorough knowledge of all parameters affecting and interfacing with the system to confirm or eliminate alternative solutions to IT or business problems/issues/decisions.
- Define technical specifications and devise and modify procedures considering software and hardware capacity, limitations and operating time, to ensure system meets business owners' and application users' enterprise reporting needs and objectives.
- Monitor process and measure improvements.
- Analyze, evaluate, and revise existing system logic difficulties to ensure enterprise reporting meets business expectations and IT standards, providing input, recommendations and oversight on: Logical and physical data models developing those models as needed.
- Prepare detailed specifications for programming code development, building and testing.
- Software/hardware installations impacting new or existing applications that support enterprise reporting.
- Maintain current knowledge and expertise in subject matter related to enterprise reporting systems including application software tools, programming languages, database technology and data modeling principles, concepts and techniques through advanced training, participation in industry conferences, reviewing industry literature, and conducting vendor interviews.
- Work directly with product owners to analyze and document functional requirements and to assist with setting priorities for application development projects.
- Gather requirements from stakeholders via discovery sessions, draft reviews of Business Requirements, document and proof of requirements and obtain approval of document from stakeholders.
- Act as a SME utilizing in depth understanding of all aspects of the development project to prioritize and streamline processes.
- Work with software vendor and/or product team to guide new feature development.
Required:
- 4+ years of healthcare IT experience including experience with healthcare/clinical systems and implementing new applications.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
- Strong organizational, project management and process analysis skills.
- Must be able to read and comprehend complex technical documents.
- Must be able to work extended hours as needed and limited overnight travel will be required as needed.
